Week Recap [9/8- 9/12]

We had a long week with the boys soccer teams at St. Thomas More. Wednesday the JV and Varsity had games against New Berlin West,at New Berlin West and the Freshmen were playing at Grafton. The freshmen won there game 3-1 on goals by Riley, Sterling, and Alex. The JV played a tough 0-0 game and the varsity lost to the strong New Berlin Varsity team 2-0. Tuesday we had practice again with JV asking themselves why they couldn't score and the varsity thinking about a blowing Wisconsin Luthern the next night. Thursday came and players on both JV and Varsity went to school with there uniforms on ready to beat the weak Wisconsin Luthern team that had embarrassed the varsity team at the Cudahy Classic a few weeks before. Three o'clock came and the bus left for Wisco. The bus arrived around 3:45 and the jv game began at 4:30 sharp. The jv started out dominating the young Wisco team. Finally at the end of the first half the jv got there first goal of the season by Connor Jonas. The jv team went into halftime leading 1-0 and feeling good. The second half began and still the jv team was dominating but, about 10 minutes in Wisco got a goal and a little miscommunication and the game was tied up at 1-1. And that's how it would end. The jv team tied once again. Next it was the varsity's turn to play and show the Wisco team that the game at the Cudahy Classic was a joke. They did just that. They got an early goal from forward John DonDero, later the first half they got a goal from midfielder Miguel Frias. The Thomas More team went into halftime leading 2-0 but they weren't finished. They added to more goals in the second half from Miguel Frias (his second) and Freshmen Luis "Boca" Esquvial. The final was Thomas More 4- Wisconsin Luthern 1. Overall it was an okay week for the Thomas More boys soccer teams. Next games are on Monday at Croatian Park against Shorwood, JV and Varsity.
