Also I need some ideas for posts for the future so that I can keep the blog going throughout the entire year.  If you have any ideas comment the blog or email me at cbranger4@gmail.com.

Thank you, all ideas help.

Varsity Soccer Year in Review

The St. Thomas More boys soccer team are now officially done for the year.  The season ended when the varsity season was ended last Thursday by University School of Milwaukee in the Sectional Sem- Finals.  The varisty season didn't go as most had thought it would, but the boys had an overall good year and being regional champions for the third straight year.  The boys had lost of guys last year to graduation, but had some key players returning; Kenneth Arya, Dan Hansen, All- Conference Honorable Mention last year, Jose Roque, All- State Honorable Mention and Second in voting for Woodland Conference player of the year, John Malisweski, John DonDero, Miguel Frias, Matt Cheaney, and Tyler Shultz.  The boys also added freshman Luis "Boca" Esquivel to there team.  The boys were expecting a lot from John DonDero and Jose Roque who last combined to score 20 plus goals for the Cavilers and Jose was one of tens players to watch in the area.  Well, things didn'st go as planned.  The boys had touble finishing all year and that would end up being there down fall in the end.  A bright spot for the boys defeating conference rival Wauwatosa West 3-2.  The boys finished 3-7 in the Woodland Conference and 9-16 overall.  They scored 25 goals on the year.

It's Final......

The St. Thomas More boys soccer team lost yesterday to number one seed University School of Milwaukee.  The boys played a good game, but the ball wasn't going there way.  The half ended 0-0, but in the second half University School got a few lucky balls and and capatilized, defeating our boys 3-0.  In the locker room Coach Tommy had a few words,  "The best team doesn't always win", and he's absolutley right.  We'll have a great team next year!!!  Finals soon!!! Next year information will be given to you when it is available.

First Indoor Game of the Year

It was the boys first indoor game of the year and because a bunch of the boys are on varsity they had only seven players, one sub. The went into the game thinking that they were going to lose and that the game would be a practice game. They were thankfully wrong. The boys were the first on the board against the FC Milwaukee U15 team, on a goal by Brad Vajgrt. FC added a goal of there own and the game was tied up at one, but not for long, Kyle Putney added a goal assisted by Nathan Karabon. The teams went into half time with the Thomas More boys up by one. The second half started and the boys were clearly tired, but didn't give up. Cal Branger scored a goal assisted by Matt Zeims to give the boys insurance. Then with about six minutes left Max Klig got injured, we all hope he's alright. The Cal Branger added another goal assisted by Kyle Putney, about 15 seconds later Kyle got his second goal assisted by Cal Branger. And that's how it would end the Thomas More boys winning 5-1. There next game is next Sunday night at 5:00pm at Brookfield Indoor Soccer Complex. Full Scedule up soon!! Statistics also up soon!!!

St. Thomas More v. Pewaukee [9/29]

The St. Thomas More boys soccer teams took on Pewaukee Monday at Croatian Park. Both games started at 4:30. The JV game was dominated by STM, but they had problems finishing. Finally late in the first half they got there first goal and the first goal Pris (sorry Pris I don't know what your last name is). The boys went into half time up 1-0. Over on the Varsity field the boys weren't doing as well as the JV team. they got scored on twice in the first half and went into half time down 2-0. The second started for both teams, on the JV side the Pewaukee team seemed to come out with a different attitude and they were outplaying the JV. Pewaukee got a goal early in the second half to tie the game, and that's how it would stay. The JV boys tying once again. There record 3-1-4 (3-0-3).

St. Thomas More 1 0-1

St. Thomas More @ Wauwatosa West [9/24]

The St. Thomas More boys were at Wauwatosa tonight.  A big game for the JV, playing the 1st place team in the conference and the Varsity game was a game of the week on JsOnline.com, and the boys were trying to prove there better then they have played lately.  The JV game was first and because of the team getting there late the halves were only 30 minutes, but that didn't matter to the JV.  The game started with no surprises, then with about 10 minutes left in the half Tosa scored first on a little tap in.  Half time came and went and the last 30 minutes of the game began.  Quickley the JV team seemed to be playing much better then the first half.  Then about 15 minutes in Enrique Murguia scored on little tap in making the score 1-1, and that's how it would stay.  The boys record is now 3-1-3 (3-0-2).

Next up was the varsity game.  The game started quickly and Tosa was first on the board with a goal by there phenomonel forward.  Thomas More didn't screw around and a few minutes later Luis Esquiveal scored tying the game at one a piece.  The game went on and late in the first half Tosa got another goal from there forward putting them up 2-1.  Half time came and the boys knew they could win the game.  They came out and got two goals one by Luis Esquiveal, his sencond, and own goal.  The boys  proved that they were much better then they had been playing. Great game boys!!!! There record is now 6-7 (2-3).

Good luck to the freshmen team tomorrow against Tosa West!!!!

And hope too see Brad Vagjert back and well soon!!!!

St. Thomas More v. New Berlin Esienhower [9/22]

The St. Thomas More JV soccer team is still undefeated in conference!!! The boys had an impressive 2-1 victory over the Esienhower team that had defeated tehn 7-0 last year in a blow out. The boys got a first half goal from Connor Jonas. They went into half time leading the Lions 1-0. The second half started and the Lions added a goal quick on an impressive shot. The score was now 1-1. They second half went on, finally with 5 minutes left in the game Jake Key played a ball to James Komorowski who finished with the ball hitting the back of the net. The St. Thomas More JV boys won the game 2-1. They got great goalie play from freshmen goalie John Stahr. Great job boys.
St. Thomas More 3-1-2 (3-0-1)

St. Thomas More 1 1-2
NW Eisenhower 0 1-1

The St. Thomas More boys varsity wasn't as successful. They played a tough game, but like the other games they lost by low margains it was because they couldn't finish. They played a tough first half with neither team losing. Then in the second half Eisenhower got a beak away. It looked like Dan Hansen had it, but it slipped out his hands and a New Berlin player tapped it in. A heart breaking lose for the highly touted team that just can't seem to get any goals these days. Good luck next time boys!!!!!
St. Thomas More 5-7 (1-3)

St. Thomas More 0 0-0
NW Eisenhower 0 1-1

St. Thomas More @ Shorewood and v. Franklin [9/17]

The St. Thomas More soccer team was going to Brown Deer on Wednesday and expecting a victory. Not too much to say about these games. The JV team won 7-0 on 5 goals in the first half. The 1st by Cal Branger, 2nd by Nathan Karabon, 3rd by Luis Gagos, 4th by Jake Key and 5th by Brad Vagert. In the second half the added 2 more. Luis Gagos got his second goal and the other goal was by James Komoroski. Erik Caballero got his 2nd shutout. In the varsity game TMore controlled the game. They won 2-0 on two goals by midfielder Jose Roque. Great job both teams.
The freshmen team had a home against Franklin at the Cousins Center and wasn't as lucky as the JV and Varsity, they lost 2-0. Great job all teams and good luck to the Varsity when they take on Milwaukee King tomorrow at Pulaski Stadium. Pictures of the JV team will be up soon. Varisty and freshmen pictures will also be up in the coming days.
